Default Make First Person..First Person.

Topic is self-explanitory. Make First Person mode actually First Person. An example is Morrowind and Dark Messiah. When you zoom in all the way, you can see your weapons swing and slash and when you cast spells in FPV you can see your arm move out like how male elementalists thrust their arms out when they cast 1/4 or 1/2 spells.

this would be nice, tried a battle in first person just to see what it was like. Couldn't even tell if I hit them, had to go off from their health bar.

Never play in first person mode, but still be cool to see ur sword that up close. Prices will go up if you can see your Celestial sword or fellblade etc. glowing and shimmering right in front of your eyes.

First person already gets in the way as it is.

How about we leave this to Morrowind and Dark Messiah, and let GW be what it is.

If you find the time control the battle and look at your weapon and arms in combat from first person mode, it's time to move out of pre-searing.

Hm... this would probably require the addition of new models for all armors... that show only those parts (feet, arms, etc).

I only play in first person in some Normal Mode areas, usually where AI can do all the job, because I like to see the battle closer.

Maybe in GW2.

The first-person change they added only makes it more difficult to switch between 3rd person and 1st person, and also *reduced* the FoV (field of view) of the 1st person mode. I'd call that update a horrible nerf that needs to be changed back.

Actually, get a sword and go in first person. Cast a rit weapon spell on yourself. You can see the sword. And I can safely say it is the coolest thing I have ever seen in all of Guild Wars flat out. Just seeing the sword right there in front of me made me feel so much more immersed in the game. Don't let us see our hands or anything, that may be too hard. Just let us see the weapons. It looks absolutely amazing!!!

I took some Screenshots, I will post them later if you guys want!

/signed for immersion.

It might not work in GW, though, due to the engine limitations blah blah blah. Perhaps good for GW2, though.

I've gone into first person on my W/Mo sometimes when fighting. The problem is most enemies clip through you when they attack, though some enemies like Hydras you can see fully in first person, and it looks so cool when they die.

Why do you think they made an update for first person? It shows that there is a first person. Just because it's an online RPG, does not mean it is 3rd person. There are many online RPG's with first person.

The discussion isn't about whether or not first person is good. It's about if this change would be good. First person is already in the game, so anybody saying "No rpg should have first person" or whatever is missing the point.

yea seriously if you dont use first person mode shut up and flame elsewhere if you dont use it then you wont notice will ya,

i do think this would be cool cause it could delve you deeper into the action, currently first person only does the good of hiding you charecter, kinda lame. so i would love to see this, it would add depth and beauty to the game, and the look of GW is where it shines so yea ill /sign this
